* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Western Madera County in central California...
Western Fresno County in central California...
* Until 645 PM PDT.
* At 612 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles east of
South Dos Palos, or 21 miles south of Merced, moving northeast at
15 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Public reported funnel cloud north of Firebaugh.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
* This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
western Madera and western Fresno Counties.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Intense thunderstorm lines can produce brief tornadoes and widespread
significant wind damage. Although a tornado is not immediately
likely, it is best to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of
a building. This storm may cause serious injury and significant
property damage.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
