Description:
At 423 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Yosemite National to 15 miles west of
Bootjack. Movement was north at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Yosemite National, Mariposa, Hetch Hetchy Ranger Station, Miguel
Meadow Ranger Station, Tamarack Flat Campground, Lake Eleanor Ranger
Station, El Portal, Rancheria Falls Wilderness Campground, Hodgdon
Meadow Campground, Catheys Valley, Hetch Hetchy, Gin Flat, Lake
McClure, Crane Flat Campground, Crane Flat, Lower Kibbie Ridge, and
Mather Ranger Station.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Conditions are favorable for the development of weak, brief funnel
clouds. This type of funnel cloud is harmless, but on rare occasions
they can briefly touch down, producing wind gusts over 50 mph. If a
funnel cloud is spotted move indoors and report your sighting to the
National Weather Service.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
