Description:
The City of Morganton Water Plant is not in operation. This is due to the raw water pump station being underwater. Any water in the system will soon be depleted. We ask that our customers please understand and be patient while repairs and replacement of equipment can be initiated. In order for this to happen, the flood waters must recede so that crews can mobilize at the site. This will be a process that take time and personal safety must be a priority so water service is restored. This includes these cities fed by the City of Morganton Water system including Burke County, Brentwood Water, Town of Drexel and the Lake James Communities. We will be making updates as they become available.
We are working closely with Emergency Management during this crisis. An order has been placed at the state level for bottled water for our community and surrounding areas. We will update as soon as this relief can be deployed.
