Southeastern Washington County in southwestern Virginia...
* Until 215 AM EDT.
* At 1113 PM EDT, local law enforcement continued to report some
flooded roadways across Johnson county. An area of showers and
thunderstorms producing moderate to heavy rain will continue
across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible
in the warned area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by showers and thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Unicoi, Glade Spring, Damascus, Doeville, Neva, Sadie, Shady
Valley, Elk Mills, Hunter, Laurel Bloomery, Roan Mountain, Roane
Mountain State Park, Hampton Creek Cove State Park, Milligan
College and Limestone Cove.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
