The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Eastern Chester County in upstate South Carolina...
Southeastern York County in upstate South Carolina...
* Until 300 PM EDT.
* At 1155 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated more tropical
thunderstorms producing heavy rain developing northward into the
I-77 corridor. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain fell earlier.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly...especially throughout the greater Rock Hill and Fort
Mill areas.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that may experience flash flooding include...
Rock Hill, Southwest Charlotte, Fort Mill, Pineville, Tega Cay,
Newport, Lesslie, Great Falls, Fort Lawn, Richburg, Catawba,
Carowinds, Lake Wylie and Edgemoor.
