Western Orangeburg County in central South Carolina... * Until 300 PM EDT. * At 1258 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. This includes the Sunnyside Canal area of Orangeburg. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Orangeburg, Bamberg, Denmark, Brookdale, Branchville, Orangeburg County Airport, Edisto Gardens, South Carolina State University, Claflin College, Rivers Bridge State Park, Ehrhardt, Neeses, Norway, Rowesville, Olar, Cordova, Livingston, Cope, Govan and Bamberg County Airport. This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 142 and 143.
