Description:
At 134 PM EDT /1234 PM CDT/, emergency management reported
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Apalachicola, Eastpoint, St George Island, Franklin, Bay City,
Apalachicola Airport, Hays Place, Beverly, Creels, Tilton, Buck
Siding, Green Point, Nine Mile, Fort Gadsden, Howard Creek, High
Bluff, Eleven Mile, Odena, Thirteen Mile and Willis Landing.
At 109PM ET, Franklin County Emergency Management reported flooding
roads on Highway 67 north of Carrabelle, at Alligator Point, and
Highway 319 near Wakulla County Bridge.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
