* Until 200 AM EDT.
* At 902 PM EDT, Persistent moderate to heavy rain across the area
today has resulted in between 4 and 6 inches of rain. A band of
moderate to heavy rain with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches in 1
hour is moving into the area with saturated soils. Additional
rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area,
which will result in additional flash flooding. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Asheville, North Asheville, Black Mountain, Mills River, Woodfin,
Fletcher, Swannanoa, Canton, Lake Junaluska, Weaverville, Fairview
In Buncombe County, Biltmore Forest, Bent Creek, Clyde, Mount
Pisgah and B.R. Parkway-Mount Pisgah To The Nc Arboretum.

threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service
Greenville-Spartanburg by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1,
by posting on our Facebook page, or via X using hashtag NWSGSP. Your
message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred
and the depth of flooding observed.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
