At 640 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated that heavy rain was falling across the warned area. Between 4 and 7 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain. THe heaviest rainfall should be pushing out of the area, with flooding expected to continue. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. North Augusta, Belvedere, Edgefield, Saluda, McCormick, Johnston, Lincolnton, Ridge Spring, Hamilton Branch State Park, Clarks Hill Recreation Area, Mccormick County Airport, J. Strom Thurmond Dam, Elijah Clark State Park, Edgefield County Airport, Saluda County Airport, Trenton, Parksville, Ward, Plum Branch and Cleora. This includes the following highways... Interstate 520 in South Carolina near mile marker 23. Interstate 20 in South Carolina between mile markers 0 and 19.
