* Until 1000 AM EDT.
* At 708 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across Anderson, Greenwood, and
Abbeville Counties. Between 7 and 10 inches of rain have fallen.
The expected rainfall rate is 2.5 to 3.5 inches in 1 hour.
Significant flooding appears likely, resulting in road closures,
first-floor inundation, and damage to some structures.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Ware Shoals, Calhoun Falls, Ninety Six, Joanna, Due West, Gray
Court, Lake Secession, Cross Hill, Donalds, Cokesbury, Waterloo,
Hodges, Lowndesville and Troy.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
