Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of North Carolina, including the following
counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Surry and Wilkes and southwest
Virginia, including the following counties and independent city,
Carroll, City of Galax, Grayson and Wythe.
* WHEN...Until 815 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 506 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Up to 1.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Beaverdam Creek, Brown Lick Branch, Basin Creek, Bridle
Creek, Big Warrior Creek, Beaver Creek, Big Sandy Creek,
Brush Creek, Big Pine Creek and Bee Tree Branch.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
