* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Haywood. * WHEN...Until 100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...River or stream flows are elevated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 857 AM EDT, Rainfall continued to steadily pile up today on top of last night's heavy amounts throughout the headwaters of the Pigeon River. Continue to monitor flows in both the East and West Forks through midday. If rainfall becomes heavy again, flash flood warnings may be needed. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Canton, B.R. Parkway-Black Balsam To Mount Pisgah, Graveyard Fields, Black Balsam Area, Mount Pisgah, B.R. Parkway-Balsam Gap To Black Balsam Area, Sunburst and Cruso. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Your message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred and the depth of flooding observed. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
