* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of piedmont North Carolina, including the following counties, Gaston and Lincoln. * WHEN...Until 400 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1244 PM EDT, There will continue to be the threat of flooding of low-lying areas along select tributaries of the Catawba and South Fork as periodic tropical rain showers overspread the region. Flood threat areas include, but are not limited to, Killian, Anderson and Leepers Creek. Also remain wary of high water levels on Catawba Creek and Duharts Creek. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Gastonia, Lincolnton, Mt Holly, Belmont, South Gastonia, Dallas, Maiden, Stanley, Cramerton, Lowell, Ranlo, Westport, High Shoals, Mcadenville, Iron Station, Boger City, Denver, Lake Norman, Lake Wylie and Lowesville. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
