Description:
One to three inches of rain has caused elevated levels this evening
along rivers and streams of the North Shore. The Baptism River near
Beaver Bay was near minor flood stage but appears to be cresting.
Little additional rainfall is expected but high water will continue
as runoff makes it way to the rivers and streams.
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...In Minnesota, Lake and St. Louis Counties.
* WHEN...Until 1130 PM CST Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Overflowing poor drainage areas. River or stream flows
are elevated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 540 PM CST Tuesday, Doppler radar and automated rain and
river gauges indicated heavy rain has caused elevated river
and stream levels. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of
rain have fallen.

Duluth, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Beaver Bay, Split Rock
Lighthouse State Park, Gooseberry Falls State Park, Castle
Danger, Tettegouche State Park, Finland, Illgen City, Little
Marais, Larsmont, George Manitou State Park, Knife River,
Stoney Point, French River, McQuade Harbor, Alger, Palmers
and Wilson Lake.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
