...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia...
Yellow River at Pleasant Hill Road near Lithonia affecting DeKalb
and Rockdale Counties.
For the Yellow River Basin...including Lithonia...Moderate flooding
is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Yellow River at Pleasant Hill Road near Lithonia.
* WHEN...From Thursday evening to Saturday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Significant
flooding expands into the woodlands and fields near the river
upstream and downstream from the gage on Pleasant Hill Road. In
Dekalb County...some flooding of backyards of homes occurs on
Harmony Hills Drive and Court. Johnson Creek flowing under Union
Grove Road into the river continues to back up. In Rockdale
County...some flooding of yards begins in the Lake Capri
subdivision.
At 15.0 feet, Minor flooding continues and expands further into the
woodlands and fields near the river upstream and downstream from the
gage on Pleasant Hill Road. In Dekalb County...some flooding of
backyards of homes begin on Harmony Hills Drive and Court. Johnson
Creek flowing under Union Grove Road into the river begins to back
up.
At 21.0 feet, Significant flooding expands along the river upstream
and downstream from the gage on Pleasant Hill Road. In Dekalb
County...widespread flooding of yards of homes occurs on Harmony
Hills Drive and Court. Johnson Creek backs up to the level of Union
Grove Road. In Rockdale County...flooding expands in the Lake Capri
subdivision with several homes affected. Flooding also occurs along
several roads including Lake Sorrento Court...Lake Capri Drive...
Capistrano Way...Rivieria...and Westminister Lane.

- At 10:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 4.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 20.5 feet Friday
evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday
morning.
