Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Portions of east Tennessee, including the following
counties, Blount, Claiborne, Cocke, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen,
Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox, Sevier and Union and southwest
Virginia, including the following counties, Lee and Scott.
* WHEN...Until 300 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding, especially
in Sevier County. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff
from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or
standing water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1033 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported heavy rainfall
and flooding across the warned area.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Knoxville, Morristown, Maryville, Sevierville, Alcoa,
Jefferson City, Newport, Rogersville, Gatlinburg, Dandridge,
Sneedville, Rutledge, Jonesville, Pigeon Forge, New Tazewell,
Bean Station, Louisville, Tazewell, White Pine and Plainview.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
