Flood Warning for the following rivers in Georgia...
Cedar Creek near Cedartown affecting Floyd and Polk Counties.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Cedar Creek near Cedartown.
* WHEN...From Friday morning until further notice.
* IMPACTS...At 16 feet, Moderate flooding begins. Significant
flooding occurs in the woodlands along the creek upstream and
downstream from the gage on Cave Spring Road. The flood waters
will be approaching the foundation of a home on the downstream
left bank of the creek.
At 11 feet, Flood stage is reached. Minor flooding begins in the
woodlands along the creek upstream and downstream from the gage on
Cave Spring Road.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 0.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
Friday morning and continue rising to 16.3 feet tomorrow
afternoon. Additional rises are possible thereafter.
- Flood stage is 11 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
16.2 feet on 02/21/1961.
