For the Chattahoochee River Basin...including Helen, Dahlonega, Cornelia, Suwanee, Buford, Suwanee, Buford, Chattahoochee River upstream McGinnis Ferry Rd, Norcross, Chattahoochee River above Roswell, Roswell, Powers Ferry & I285 Atlanta, Smyrna, Chattahoochee River below Morgan Falls Dam, Atlanta, Atlanta, Atlanta, Atlanta, Fairburn, Whitesburg, Fairplay, Whitesburg, Whitesburg, Franklin, Corinth, Hammett Rd below Hogansville, Franklin, West Point, Columbus, Union, Omaha...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Chattahoochee River near Whitesburg. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, Significant flooding expands into the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage. The Riverside Park next to the bridge will be under 5 feet of water. Flood waters will begin to enter some homes at the end of Bob Brewster Road. Moore Creek will back up and flood portions of Payton Road near Cliff Payton Circle around 3 feet deep. Large portions of the day use area parking lot and north camping site in the Chattahoochee Bend State Park will be under 3 feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 9.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 24.1 feet Saturday morning.
