Yadkin River At Elkin affecting Yadkin and Surry Counties.
Yadkin River At Wilkesboro affecting Wilkes County.
For the Yadkin River...including Wilkesboro, Elkin...Moderate
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Yadkin River at Elkin.
* WHEN...From this evening to late Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...At 24.0 feet, two to three blocks of Elkin are inundated.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 18.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 16.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 PM EDT Thursday was 18.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.8
feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage
late Saturday morning.
- Flood stage is 18.0 feet.
