...Observed flooding changed to Moderate severity and increased in
duration for the following rivers in Georgia...
Nancy Creek at Rickenbacker Drive at Atlanta affecting DeKalb and
Fulton Counties.
For the Nancy Creek...including Chamblee, Atlanta, Atlanta...Minor
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring.
* WHERE...Nancy Creek at Rickenbacker Drive at Atlanta.
* WHEN...Until tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Moderate flooding occurs. Widespread
flooding of residential yards and property occurs upstream and
downstream from the gage on Rickenbacker Drive. The water will
begin to enter crawl spaces and walkout basements of homes on East
Powder Horn Road and Hitching Post Trail around 1.5 miles
upstream...along Rickenbacker Way near the gage...and out
buildings on Fairfield Drive around 2 miles downstream.

- At 10:15 PM EDT Thursday the stage was 12.4 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:15 PM EDT Thursday was 12.4 feet.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage to 10.7 feet
just after midnight tonight. It will then rise above flood
stage late tonight to 11.9 feet tomorrow morning. It will
fall below flood stage again late tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
12.6 feet on 04/30/1963.
