Georgia...
Chattahoochee River at Atlanta affecting Fulton and Cobb Counties.
For the Chattahoochee River Basin...including Atlanta...Minor
flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and forecast.
* WHERE...Chattahoochee River at Atlanta.
* WHEN...Until late this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Minor flooding continues to expand into
the woodlands along the river upstream and downstream from the
gage on Paces Ferry Road. Most of an athletic field at Lovett
School...backyards of residential homes on Cochise Drive...Paces
Ferry Drive...Paces Manor and Farmington Drive...and walking paths
by a restaurant will be under 3 feet of water.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:15 AM EDT Friday the stage was 15.2 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 16.4
feet early Friday morning. Additional heavy rainfall is
expected overnight. Continue to monitor latest forecasts for
updates.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
16.4 feet on 09/08/2021.
