Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following
counties, Carter, Greene, Johnson and Unicoi.
* WHEN...Until noon EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 850 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain. Flooding
is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Johnson City, Erwin, Mountain City, Hampton, Banner Hill,
Unicoi, Roane Mountain State Park, Roan Mountain, Limestone
Cove, Milligan College, Elk Mills, Hampton Creek Cove State
Park, Doeville, Neva, Shady Valley, Trade, Rocky Fork, Laurel
Bloomery and Cedar Creek.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
