French Broad River Near Hot Springs affecting Madison County. .Flooding across the lower French Broad Valley will reach areas which have not seen flooding in the last 20 years. This is a dangerous situation!. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...French Broad River near Hot Springs. * WHEN...Until early Monday morning. * IMPACTS...At 16.5 feet, Areas between the railroad and the river near Divine Water Way northwest of town and areas between the river and highway 25/70 near lookout loop will begin to flood. At 19.0 feet, Much of the area between the river and Silver Mine and Andrews Roads will likely be flooded. Spring creek will overflow its banks north of bridges road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM EDT Friday the stage was 15.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:45 AM EDT Friday was 15.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.0 feet just after midnight tonight.
