For the Etowah River Basin...including Landrum, Russell Creek downstream of Head Lake Dawsonville, Dawsonville, Dawsonville, Dawsonville, Ball Ground, Matt, Canton, Old GA 5 below Ball Ground, Canton, Canton, Waleska, Woodstock, Noonday Creek above Chastain Meadows Pkwy Marietta, Woodstock, Woodstock, Kennesaw, Acworth, Allatoona Dam above Cartersville, Dallas, Cartersville, Rockmart, Kingston, Kingston, Rome, Rome...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Etowah River at Canton. * WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow evening. * IMPACTS...At 20 feet, Minor flooding expands further into the woodlands and fields upstream and downstream from the gage by the Walaska Street bridge. Large portions of recreational areas such as Boling Park behind the Cherokee County High School...the Cherokee County Fairgrounds and the Etowah River Greenway at Heritage Park will be flooded with up to 4 feet of water. The flood waters will reach the base of the water treatment plant near Boling Park. Portions of the Mill Industrial Way road will be under 3 feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 15.5 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 19.6 feet this evening.
