Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of upstate South Carolina, including the
following counties, Oconee and Pickens.
* WHEN...Until 1015 PM EDT Friday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise
due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings
are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 413 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated that between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen in
the last 24 hours. Flooding is already occurring in the
warned area.
- Flooding impacts will continue into this evening, but little
to no additional rainfall is expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Easley, Clemson, Seneca, Walhalla, Pickens, West Greenville,
Welcome, Central, Pendleton, Liberty, Westminster, Gumlog,
Norris, Six Mile, Tallulah Falls, Salem, Lake Keowee, Keowee
Toxaway State Park, Devils Fork State Park and Oconee State
Park.

When it is safe to do so, please report flooding or landslides
threatening roads or property to the National Weather Service
Greenville-Spartanburg by calling toll free, 1, 800, 2 6 7, 8 1 0 1,
by posting on our Facebook page, or via X using hashtag NWSGSP. Your
message should describe the specific location where impacts occurred
and the depth of flooding observed.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
