...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North
Carolina...
Tuckasegee River At Bryson City affecting Swain County.
.Floodwaters continued to work through the Tuckasegee Basin and
river levels will continue to slowly fall tonight.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is
forecast as river levels slowly fall.
* WHERE...Tuckasegee River at Bryson City.
* WHEN...Until early tomorrow afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Businesses near Everett Street and along
Island and Carringer Streets will flood. In Whittier, businesses
along the river may have water in their loading docks.
At 13.5 feet, Stores along Gibson and Island streets will be
flooded. Floodwater levels will be similar to the flooding that
occurred on September 17, 2004.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 5:01 PM EDT Friday the stage was 13.8 feet.
- Action/Advisory Stage is 8.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 5 PM EDT Friday was 15.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
just after midnight tonight and continue falling to 4.4 feet
early Wednesday afternoon.
- Minor Flood Stage is 10.0 feet.
Moderate Flood Stage is 13.5 feet.
Major Flood Stage is 15.5 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
13.9 feet on 09/17/2004.
