* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive runoff continues. * WHERE...A portion of western North Carolina, including the following county, Buncombe. * WHEN...Until 700 AM EDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 924 PM EDT, Remain vigilant overnight as locally excessive runoff continues to work through the French Broad Basin. Watch for ongoing road closures where high water is slow to recede and also be aware of the dangers of encountering debris flows in the higher terrain. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Heavy rain had significantly increased the risk of landslides, especially in areas where slides have occurred in the past. Slides can destroy single homes and other structures and large sections of roads. If you are in the warned area, you should not travel, except to move away from flash flood or landslide dangers.
