Minor flooding begins in the woodlands and fields along the river upstream and downstream from the gage by the Walaska Street bridge. Low lying portions of recreational areas such as Boling Park behind the Cherokee County High School...the Cherokee County Fairgrounds and the Etowah River Greenway at Heritage Park will begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:15 PM EDT Friday the stage was 16.3 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:15 PM EDT Friday was 16.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tonight and continue falling to 4.1 feet Wednesday evening. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
