Sopchoppy River near Sopchoppy (FR 343) affecting Wakulla County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Sopchoppy River near Sopchoppy (FR 343). * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 32.0 feet, Water reaches the base of the FR-343 bridge in the Apalachicola National Forest. Access into many areas along the river north of the City of Sopchoppy becomes severely restricted. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:30 PM EDT Friday the stage was 32.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:30 PM EDT Friday was 33.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall to 30.8 feet late Sunday evening. - Flood stage is 28.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 32.9 feet on 04/01/1973. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
