Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Central and Southern Pickens County, South Carolina
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. Streams continue to rise
due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings
are inundated with water and may not be passable.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 542 AM EDT, Streamgauges indicate many low-lying areas are
still trying to recover following extreme rainfall
accumulations across Pickens County. Twelemile Creek is
receding but remains above Minor Flood Stage, Eighteenmile
Creek is receding but remains above Action/Advisory Stage,
and the small tributaries feeding the Saluda are likely
experiencing backwater effects. Area low-lying areas will
have difficulty removing areas of residual flooding due to
saturated soils and there have been reports of isolated
overland flow onto roadways making travel hazardous.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

unstable and unsafe.
