South River near Waynesboro affecting Augusta and City of
Waynesboro independent cities.
For the South River...including Waynesboro...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...South River near Waynesboro.
* WHEN...Until this afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 11.0 feet, Significant portions of downtown
Waynesboro are flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 5:15 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 10.7 feet, or 1.2 feet
above flood stage.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 5:15 AM EDT Saturday was 11.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
this morning and continue falling to 7.1 feet early Tuesday
morning.
- Flood stage is 9.5 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
10.5 feet on 11/29/2005.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
