* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is occurring. * WHERE...A portion of northwest North Carolina, including the following counties, Alleghany NC, Ashe, Watauga and Wilkes. * WHEN...Until 900 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 847 AM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 6 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Beech Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Big Horse Creek, Beaver Creek, Basin Creek, Bee Tree Branch and Big Bugaboo Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
