...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Georgia...
Yellow River at GA 124 near Lithonia affecting Gwinnett and
DeKalb Counties.
For the Yellow River Basin...including Lithonia...Minor flooding is
forecast.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Yellow River at GA 124 near Lithonia.
* WHEN...Until this evening.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Minor flooding continues and expands
further into the woodlands near the river upstream and downstream
from the gage on Georgia Highway 124. Some flooding of backyards
of homes begin on Riveredge Cove...River Walk...Riverlake Way and
Riverview Court.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:17 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 16.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:17 AM EDT Saturday was 17.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
this afternoon and continue falling to 12.5 feet this
evening.
- Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
15.6 feet on 10/12/2020.
