duration for the following rivers in Georgia...
Flint River near Lovejoy affecting Fayette, Spalding and Clayton
Counties.
For the Flint River Basin...including Lovejoy, Peachtree City,
Fayetteville, Americus, Peachtree City, Woolsey, Sharpsburg,
Peachtree City, Peachtree City, Senoia, Griffin, Griffin, Orchard
Hill, Thomaston, Molena, Carsonville, Montezuma, Byromville...
Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Flint River near Lovejoy.
* WHEN...Until late tonight.
* IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, major flooding begins. Several homes will
flood along Roxbury Drive...Rambo Court...and Mockingbird Road.
Mobile homes begin to flood along Museum Circle. Some businesses
will flood near the Flint River on Upper Riverdale Road and
Arrowhead Boulevard. Flooding of Upper Riverdale Road will cut off
some access to Southern Regional Hospital. Several roads will
flood including Upper Riverdale Road...Arrowhead Boulevard...
Mockingbird Road...Museum Circle...Turner Road...Harbour Town and
North Bridge Road.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:15 AM EDT Saturday the stage was 15.1 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 11:15 AM EDT Saturday was 16.9 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late this evening and continue falling to 2.4 feet Thursday
morning.
- Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
15.2 feet on 10/15/1986.
