...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Georgia... Ocmulgee River near Macon affecting Jones, Monroe, Houston, Bibb and Twiggs Counties. For the Ocmulgee River Basin...including Jackson, Griffin, Juliette, Juliette, Dames Ferry, Macon, Macon, Hawkinsville, Hawkinsville, Byron, Clinchfield, Abbeville, McRae, Scotland, Lumber City... Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Ocmulgee River near Macon. * WHEN...Until Tuesday evening. * IMPACTS...At 29 feet, Significant flooding expands over the Macon GreenWay Ocmulgee Heritage Trail north of the U.S. Highway 80 bridge with some areas under 9 feet of water. The water level will reach the bottom of the bridge. Backyards of a few homes on the left bank near Glenridge Drive will be completely flooded. Large portions of the Southern Railroad tracks around Mead Road will be a few feet under water. Agricultural lands just east and south of Macon will be under 1 to 10 feet of water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM EDT Sunday the stage was 27.6 feet and rising. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage early Tuesday afternoon and continue falling to 12.3 feet Thursday evening. - Flood stage is 18 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
