Coastal waters from the Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port Fourchon Louisiana out 20 NM... * Until 1145 AM CST. * At 1039 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing waterspouts was located 33 nm south of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River, moving northeast at 10 knots. HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves. Boats could suffer signifficant structual damage in high winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher waves. Large hail could result in injury and damage to boats...vessels and oil rigs. * The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
