* Special Marine Warning for...
Coastal waters from Port Fourchon Louisiana to Lower Atchafalaya
River LA from 20 to 60 NM...
Coastal waters from Southwest Pass of the Mississippi River to Port
Fourchon Louisiana from 20 to 60 NM...
* Until 1145 AM CST.
* At 1041 AM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located 50 nm south of Louisiana Offshore Oil Port,
or 62 nm southwest of Southwest Pass Of the Mississippi River,
moving north at 15 knots.
HAZARD...Waterspouts, wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, and large
hail.
SOURCE...Radar.
IMPACT...Waterspouts can quickly form and capsize boats...damage
vessels and oil rigs...and create suddenly higher waves.
Boats could suffer signifficant structual damage in high
winds. Small craft could capsize in suddenly higher
waves. Large hail could result in injury and damage to
boats...vessels and oil rigs.
* The severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
Instruction:
Boaters should avoid waterspouts and never try to navigate near them.
Move to safe harbor or shelter immediately until the threat passes.

Wind gusts in excess of 50 knots, large hail, high waves, dangerous
lightning, and heavy rain are possible with this storm.
