Description:
At 443 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12
miles southwest of Brevard, or near Lake Toxaway, moving northeast at
25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Brevard, Rosman, Lake Toxaway, Graveyard Fields, Looking Glass,
Gorges State Park, Mount Pisgah, Black Balsam Area, Lake Jocassee,
and B.R. Parkway-Black Balsam To Mount Pisgah.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
