Description:
At 956 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located near Jacksonboro, moving northwest at 40 mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
Locations impacted include...
Walterboro, Cottageville, Round O, Ashepoo, Jacksonboro, Neyles,
Gloverville, Thayer, Drawdy and Lowcountry Regional Airport.
This includes I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 56 and 61.
Instruction:
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home,
or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
Tornadoes are difficult to observe at night. Take cover now!
Tornadoes from tropical storms or hurricanes can form and move very
quickly. TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY! If you wait until you hear a
tornado, it could be too late. Take action now to protect yourself.
