The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a
* Tornado Warning for portions of...
Dorchester County in southeastern South Carolina...
* Until 530 AM EDT.
* At 454 AM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Delemar Crossroads, moving north at 70
mph.
HAZARD...Tornado.
SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught
without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or
destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will
occur. Tree damage is likely.
* Locations impacted include...
Summerville, Ridgeville, Knightsville, Givhans, Jedburg, Canaan,
Slands Bridge, Slandsville, Westoe and Clubhouse Crossroads.
Instruction:
Move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a well-built
building away from windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home,
or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect
yourself from flying debris.
Tornadoes are difficult to observe at night. Take cover now!
Tornadoes from tropical storms or hurricanes can form and move very
