At 309 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a band of strong thunderstorms and an outflow boundary ahead of the storms, moving southeast at 35 mph. The outflow boundary, marking the strongest winds of 45 to 50 mph, extended from just south of Putnam to Goldsboro. The band of storms extended from just south of Woodson to Albany to the eastern part of the Abilene area. In addition to gusty winds, small hail of pea to half-inch in diameter are possible with the storms.

Some patchy dense fog will restrict visibilities to as low as a a half of a mile across parts of northeast Georgia. The fog should lift by around 10 AM. If driving this morning, slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave extra distance between you and the vehicle in front of you.

Areas of patchy fog have developed early this morning, with visibilities as low as 1/4 statute miles being reported, mainly across the northern and western forecast area. Trends will be monitored for a Dense Fog Advisory for portions of the forecast area. If traveling, be prepared for the possibility of rapidly changing visibilities. If your encounter dense fog this morning, turn on your low beam lights and increase your driving distance.

At 244 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking the leading edge of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from Woodson to near Moran to Potosi. Movement was southeast at 40 mph. An outflow boundary just ahead of the storms has been resulting in wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size to half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated.
