About Our Public Safety Alerts, Emergency Alerts and Weather Warnings

Public safety alerts are designed to help keep you and your family safe.

GovOneStop has partnered with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help broadcast public safety alerts, emergency alerts, and weather warnings to American citizens.

We are an authorized national alert distributor for the FEMA’s national Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) Emergency Alert System (EAS).

The IPAWS-OPEN network consists of over 1,700 Alerting Authority partners nationwide. IPAWS delivers over 600 emergency and public safety alerts a month, and has saved over 130 children through AMBER alerts.

Local officials use IPAWS to alert and inform people about wildfires, flooding, volcanoes, missing and endangered children, missing or wanted adults, dangerous persons, local police activity, gas leaks, road closures, evacuations, severe weather and other manmade and natural disasters.

GovOneStop is also a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador for NOAA. We share the goal of greater community resilience through improved ways to prepare, respond, and recover from extreme events. See: https://www.weather.gov/wrn/success-stories
