Relative humidity is forecast to fall to 20 to 25 percent across much of northeast Georgia this afternoon, while temperatures are forecast to be 2 to 3 degrees warmer than Wednesday. Winds are expected to be lighter at around 5 mph, but the low humidity combined with very dry vegetation and warm temperatures will result in an elevated threat for the rapid spread of wildfire across the area, especially this afternoon. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities on whether you can burn today.

New York Special Weather Statement | Effective 04/22/2026 23:27

The combination of dry fine fuels, gusty northwesterly winds up to 25 mph and minimum relative humidity values between 20 and 30 percent will contribute to an elevated risk for fire spread today across portions of the Upper Hudson Valley, including Washington, Warren and Saratoga Counties. The lowest relative humidity values and strongest winds will occur during the afternoon hours. As a reminder, the annual statewide burn ban is in effect until May 14. No burn permits are issued. Use extra caution if handling
