A Bering Sea Low will bring a front into the Western Interior with snow and wind beginning Wednesday morning/midday from Holy Cross to McGrath. The front will move northward through the day and will be in Ambler around midnight Thursday morning. As the front lifts northward, temperatures on the south side of it will approach and exceed 32 degrees. This leaves a chance for rain to mix in, especially south of Galena Wednesday evening/night.

The combination of clear skies, cool and dry air, and light winds will allow temperatures to fall into the mid 30s in sheltered and low lying, rural areas. This will be cold enough for patchy frost formation. Those with sensitive vegetation should consider taking precautions tonight.

At 709 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 20 miles northeast of Ranchitos Las Lomas, or 21 miles west of Freer, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Freer. This includes US Highway 59 between mile markers 760 and 790. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

At 628 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 12 miles north of Ranchitos Las Lomas, or 17 miles southeast of Encinal, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of northwestern Duval and east central Webb Counties. This includes US Highway 59 between mile markers 774 and 790. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
