An unseasonably strong storm system for this time of year will bring strong winds and gusts to Nikolski, Unalaska, and Akutan beginning early this evening. Expect winds to quickly increase this afternoon with sustained southeasterly winds of 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 60 mph, becoming more southerly by Monday morning. Winds will likely peak overnight tonight into Monday morning before slowly diminishing through late Monday afternoon.

Areas of fog continue across portions of the forecast area this morning, with visibilities at or under a 1/2 mile being reported in some locations. Visibilities should improve during the next few hours. If traveling, be prepared for the possibility of rapidly changing visibilities. Webcams and observation data indicate dense fog has developed along the immediate coast of the Virginia and Maryland Eastern Shore this morning. Visibilities have dropped to as low as one quarter mile. Gradual improvement in the visibility is expected after 9 AM. Motorists should exercise extreme caution in areas of dense fog. Drive at reduced speeds and use low beam headlights only.

A corridor of heavy rainfall occurred yesterday between Tattnall County north across Evans, Bulloch, and portions of Screven, Allendale, and Hampton Counties. Patchy fog has developed over the wet ground this morning. Some patches may become briefly dense, primarily over inland southeast Georgia.
