Description:
At 749 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Vaiden, or near
Marion, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Tennis ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Marion, Uniontown, Newbern, Vaiden, Suttle, Perry County Correctional
Center, Judson College, Radford, Sprott, Vaiden Field Airport, and
Folsom.
Instruction:
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for south
central, central, southwestern and west central Alabama.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
This storm is producing destructive winds and large damaging hail.
SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from
windows.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
