Description:
At 651 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles north of Ashridge, or 11 miles northeast of Haleyville, moving
east at 35 mph. Broad rotation was noted with this storm.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Moulton, Newburg, Mt Hope, Speake, Tharptown, Bankhead National
Forest, Wren, and Landersville.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
northwestern Alabama.
