Description:
At 655 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms across western Cullman County. The strongest cell was
located over Nesmith, or 9 miles northeast of Arley, moving
southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45-50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Cullman, Hanceville, Good Hope, Dodge City, Baldwin, Vinemont, West
Point, Colony, Phelan, and Black Bottom.
Instruction:
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this cluster of storms
and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle
through flooded roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this cluster of
storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek
a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
