* WHAT...Flooding caused by an ice jam continues. * WHERE...Holy Cross. * WHEN...Until midnight AKDT Thursday Night. * IMPACTS...Extensive flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 903 PM AKDT, The ice jam 10 miles downriver from Russian Mission is still in place as of 4PM Wednesday. The ice jam is about 60 miles long with the most extensive overbank flooding occurring at Holy Cross. The Holy Cross runway is completely submerged and numerous structures in the lower part of town are surrounded with water being reported in several homes. When the Russian Mission ice jam releases, water levels should lower at Holy Cross. - http://www.weather.gov/aprfc
