Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...The following areas, Kodiak Island. This includes the
cities of Kodiak City, Port Lions, Ouzinkie, Old Harbor.
* WHEN...From Monday morning through Wednesday morning.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff from heavy rain may result in flooding
of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone
locations, including Bells Flats. Expected heavy rain may saturate
soils resulting in isolated landslides in areas of steep terrain.
Strong east to northeast winds gusting to near 60 mph at times may
also result in downed trees due to saturated soils.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An unseasonably strong North Pacific low south of Kodiak
Island is expected to bring an atmospheric river of moisture
across Kodiak Island Monday morning through Tuesday night. 2
to 4 inches of rain is possible along the eastern coast of
the island with 3 to 6 inches of rain possible for the higher
terrain. 1 inch or less of rain is possible across the
western coast of the island. The heaviest rain is expected to
fall between noon Monday and noon Tuesday, with the bulk of
the expected storm total rainfall falling during this time.

possible landslides.
